Cappuccino Mugs
Cappuccino Mugs: Types of Mugs
By Sirena Van Schaik
Have you ever walked into a coffee house and seen a dozen people sitting around with various sized mugs? Probably right, there are small mugs, barely fitting in the palm of a man’s hand and there are oversized mugs that almost need two hands to lift it. You have probably wondered what each of those mugs are used for and if they are specific to a certain beverage or not.
The answer is that for the most part, they are. Generally, the small mugs are used for espresso, the larger mugs used for hot chocolates or lattes and everything-in-between used for everything else. But what does this have to do with cappuccino mugs?
Well the truth is, the everything-in-between can be used to describe what a cappuccino mug is. There really is no right or wrong mug to use for a cappuccino mug and you can find them in a variety of sizes and shapes from traditional bowl shaped mugs to regular shaped coffee mugs. The only similarity between any cappuccino mugs is the fact that they are ceramic.
After that, the sky is the limit and many cappuccino drinkers prefer to have something with a bit more style than a plain cup presents. For this reason, you can find beautiful cappuccino cups with delicate images or complete works of art on them. You can also find them in blues and greens and just about any color you can imagine.
They are designed to hold the warmth of the cappuccino while being a refreshing piece of art in themselves, resting on matching plates. For this reason, they are a perfect combination of function and decor and you should be just as happy displaying your mugs as you are drinking from them.
So the next time you enter a coffee house and see the variety of coffee mugs, look at the design, the decor and the images that you see on them. You will find, that like cappuccino, they are hardly ever boring.
